Rahman launches Symphony Orchestra

A.R Rahman, had set up an full-fledged orchestra called Global Music. The Mozrat of the south announced the orchestra along with the launch of his KM conservatory, which is the school for professional musicians.

The orchestra will be of professional musicians from both India and abroad. The composer felt the need to setup this orchestra because there is no full fledged orchestra in India and when ever he has to compose music for orchestra he has to go to London or Budapest. The orchestra, to be fully operational in the next two years, will have both Indian as well as Western

The symphony orchestra will be in the western mode, both as a resident studio orchestra to perform his own composition for the music industry and for the people in Chennai and elsewhere in India.

It is a pity that we don’t have a symphony orchestra at home. Rehmans and Ilayarajas are compelled to go abroad to create orchestras of high quality. Lets hope AR Rahman’s Global Music is a trend setter in this.
